Product Description
Edition of 350 Zudie is proud of the work that went into making her coverlet. Each edition in this series, the Fabric of America™, will highlight a different regional example of textile work. The collection as a whole, will showcase that patchwork of individuality that makes us unique, in spite of being joined together. Zudie is dressed in a richly hued drop-waist dress. Her dark eyes sparkle and her black hair is neatly tied into beribboned braids. Her stenciled, hand-tied coverlet is displayed on a wooden quilt stand for all to admire. Zudie is the first African-American wooden-bodied doll issued by Lawtons. She stands 16" tall on a fully articulated wooden body with porcelain head and hands. The quilt stand is hand made in the Lawton workshops and is 18" tall. Her meticulously crafted coverlet measures 17˝" x 13."
